Nancy is a longtime activist in the Marathon County area, working mostly on political issues and women’s issues. It was through this work that Nancy met Dawn Anderson and her sister Kelly. The rest is history, and Nancy found herself attending State Advocacy days with Dawn and Kelly. Nancy is also one of the founders of a Women for Women group in Wausau that holds monthly meetings with speakers on women’s issues.
Nancy works on environmental issues pertaining to water and the harm they can have on breast health. Nature provides for us, and we must protect our life-sustaining water. She also works to protect the water from sulfide mining in Marathon County and Taylor County and serves on the Board of Directors for the Back 40 Mine in Marinette-Menominee (Coalition to SAVE the Menominee River).
Having recently retired from a career in mental health as a Crisis Professional with North Central Health Care, Nancy can be found hiking on the trails of Rib Mountain and helping to put on snowshoe hikes in the Wausau area in the winter months.
Nancy’s profile is part of an ongoing series. Visit the Meet Our Team page to read more about featured WBCC members.
